FAKE WAKE (for fake wakes sake)

The Irish Wake is a celebration of life and death, a unique blend of mourning and merriment—served with a side of triangular sandwiches.

In the exhibition FAKE WAKE (for fake wake’s sake), artist collective CRÓ takes a playful look at Irish death customs, reimagining this ritualistic tradition through sculptural installations, costumes, and performances. From the misunderstood Banshee—a career-driven queen of self-care—to the sacred geometry of egg mayo sandwiches, this immersive event unpacks the humor and heritage of saying goodbye. Learn the top tips for freeing a trapped soul, master the art of navigating a sea of handshakes, and experience keening like never before—grief-karaoke at its finest.
